
Lina Zabel is an artist and an aspiring educator. Currently she is studying Time-based Media under Kader Attia and Painting under Jorinde Voigt at HFBK Hamburg. Through her research and artistic practises she dives into the topic of trauma, memory and remembrance. Her chosen medium to convey her thoughts and discussions vary from written work like essays and poems to art installations and paintings.
Her work forces the viewers to put themselves in her shoes diving into the most uncomfortable topics. Her work right now is mostly focused on sexual harassment and gender roles through the tool of gaze.
Current exhibited work: Obacht II / Heimweg – A work reflecting the everyday interaction a female has on the subway. A violent space with extreme power dynamics. The viewer a violator. Stripping the figure of their clothes only their disgusted gazes stays as armor.
